TimeCapsule Family Connections came from an idea session that our founder, Jonathan Wess, had over lunch with a friend. Jon grew up with a single mother, losing his father when he was four years old. While in college for entrepreneurship, he wanted to find a way to help kids that have also lost a parent young. The answer to that question was TimeCapsule.

After finding the answer, Jon did the research to become a great interviewer to make sure that everyone’s legacy would be truthful and vast. Jon would talk to journalists, social workers, phycologists, novalists, authors, and other kids that lost a parent young to create the best questions possible. Jon knows how hard it was growing up without a parent and knew the questions that he would’ve wanted to know. He also made sure to ask others and get as many questions as he could to ensure that every kid got to know their parents and never again have to wonder what a parent, grandparent, or sibling would have been like.

Even though leaving a legacy is important to us, we also use this service to help people record themselves as a personal video journal so they can see just how much they changed. We believe that every story is important and that is our passion, telling your stories.
